The Leica CM1900 is a rapid sectioning cryostat with fully encapsulated microtome and independent specimen cooling system. This model is designed to allow for reproducible sectioning results in less than three minutes while providing easy operation and safety. The handwheel is ergonomically designed and positioned and can be locked in the upper position. Rapid and frequent changes in specimen temperature allow the sectioning of various kinds of specimens. The open top stainless steel cryochamber with separate specimen cooling is easily accessible and offers ample space for convenient working and storage of specimens.

The encapsulated stainless steel high-precision microtome is splash-proof for easy cleaning and does not need to be removed from the cryochamber for disinfecting as well as being easy to disinfect for reduction of sample contamination. The cooling feature allows operators to maintain the specimen at colder temperatures than the cryochamber to facilitate sectioning of fatty specimens. Other features include section thickness settings from 1um to 60um, first and second stage compressors, automatic hot gas defrosting, and intuitive single-functional keys and easy-to-read display.

Most of our equipment is used and reconditioned. Our technicians test all equipment to confirm that it operates properly and to the manufacturer’s specifications. While we can’t test for a specific analytical application, we will do our best to simulate the conditions under which the equipment will be run. If you have particular testing requirements or requests please let us know and we’ll work with you to make sure these requirements are addressed during testing.

The photos above are representative. Please bear in mind that the equipment shown is currently in storage in our warehouse and that in addition to testing each machine we will clean all the equipment thoroughly prior to shipment. We often have multiple units of each model in stock and sometimes we're unable to feature photos of every single unit. At your request, we can provide photos of the equipment in your order after it has been tested and cleaned.
