The Buchi R-134 allows users to quickly perform single step distillations in a product friendly manner with the evaporation and condensation of solvents using the rotating evaporating flask. Distillations are typically performed under vacuum, which helps protect the product and increases performance output. While specific conditions will varying depending on application, the basic operation of the Buchi R-134 rotovap is as follows: the solvent is heated over a heating bath while the drive unit rotates the evaporating flask evenly. The solvent vapor flows quickly into the condenser and the energy in the solvent is transferred to the cooling medium. And presto bingo, the solvent condenses and collects in the receiving flask. The Buchi R-134V is relatively easy to use and features digital displays for bath temperature, rotation speed and vapor temperature.
