The Binder KB240 is engineered to provide precise and reproducible temperature control for applications requiring both cooling and heating capability. Utilizing Binder's APT.line™ preheating chamber technology, the KB240 delivers excellent temperature uniformity throughout the chamber while minimizing temperature fluctuations and recovery times following door openings. The compressor-based refrigeration system allows operation down to 0°C, making the incubator suitable for applications that require temperatures below ambient conditions. Combined with forced-air convection and a stainless steel chamber interior, the KB240 provides a stable environment for long-term incubation, stability testing, and environmental simulation studies.
The Binder KB240 is commonly used for microbiological incubation, BOD testing, pharmaceutical stability studies, food and beverage testing, environmental monitoring, seed germination studies, shelf-life testing, quality control procedures, and general laboratory incubation applications. The broad temperature range and precise control make the unit suitable for both routine incubation and research applications requiring highly reproducible environmental conditions.
This refrigerated incubator is well suited for pharmaceutical laboratories, biotechnology companies, food and beverage testing facilities, environmental laboratories, water treatment laboratories, agricultural research facilities, university research departments, and industrial quality control laboratories. Facilities utilizing biosafety cabinets, centrifuges, laboratory refrigerators, and analytical balances often incorporate refrigerated incubators such as the KB240 into their testing and research workflows.

At American Instrument Exchange, each refurbished refrigerated incubator is inspected and evaluated by our technicians prior to shipment. Testing procedures may include temperature control verification, refrigeration system evaluation, controller functionality testing, display verification, door gasket inspection, shelf assessment, airflow testing, and general operational testing. Components showing excessive wear are addressed as needed to help ensure reliable performance. Final cleaning and inspection are completed before packaging and shipment.
The Binder KB240 requires adequate ventilation clearance around the cabinet to ensure proper refrigeration performance. Buyers should verify available floor space, doorway clearances, electrical requirements, and final installation location prior to delivery. The unit should be transported upright whenever possible and allowed to stabilize after shipment before startup. Proper installation and routine preventative maintenance can help maximize temperature performance and equipment longevity.
Laboratories purchasing refrigerated incubators often also require biosafety cabinets, centrifuges, laboratory refrigerators, freezers, and analytical balances. American Instrument Exchange offers a wide selection of refurbished laboratory equipment to support incubation, testing, sample preparation, and research workflows.
Unlike a standard incubator that typically operates only above ambient temperature, the KB240 incorporates a compressor-based refrigeration system that allows precise temperature control from 0°C to 70°C, making it suitable for both cooling and heating applications.
