Beckman Coulter JCF-Z rotor

  • For use in Beckman Coulter J2, J6, and Avanti J series centrifuges
  • For continuous flow and zonal centrifugation
  • 90 day warranty

In continuous flow centrifugation, solutions are pumped through the rotor continuously while it is spinning in the centrifuge. Particles sediment out of the flowing stream which then emerges from the rotor as a particle-depleted effluent. Continuous flow processing in the JCF-Z rotor allows efficient processing (pelleting, purification, or concentration) of large sample volumes containing particles with 600S or higher sedimentation coefficients, and is suitable for sedimenting bacteria, yeast, large subcellular particles such as membranes, and mitochondria.

When density gradient separation is performed in a zonal rotor, gradient and sample are loaded directly into the rotor cavity, with no tubes or bottles used. Zonal centrifugation enables large quantities of sample to be processed in much less time than in other types of rotors.

The basic components of the JCF-Z rotor are the rotor bowl and lid, the rotor core, the transfer tube, and the rotating seal assemblies. The cores are interchangeable; please call or email for pricing and availability of different model cores.

Our technicians inspect all rotors, including any buckets, gaskets and overspeed disks. Fixed angle rotors are closely inspected for body integrity; swinging bucket rotors supplied with buckets are checked for proper weight distribution. When possible we run each rotor in a compatible centrifuge to make sure the rotor spins properly.

The photos above are representative. Please bear in mind that the equipment shown is currently in storage in our warehouse and that in addition to testing each machine we will clean all the equipment thoroughly prior to shipment. We often have multiple units of each model in stock and sometimes we're unable to feature photos of every single unit. At your request, we can provide photos of the equipment in your order after it has been tested and cleaned.
