Freezing Point Osmometer is designed for routine medical, research, and industry measurements that determine the total osmolality of aqueous solutions. It is easily controlled via an intuitive touch screen display. The built-in printer and data saving capability streamline workflow and promote seamless data management.

The OSM100100 Osmometer measures the total osmolality of any aqueous solution, using Freezing Point Depression method. Osmolality of a solution is the number (or amount of substance) of the osmotically active particles (eg. Salt ions, urea, proteins) present per kilogram of solvent (water). The freezing point of a solvent is depressed by adding solute or mixable substances. Whereas water has a freezing point of 0°C, an aqueous solution with an osmotically active particle concentration of 1 Osm/kg has a freezing point of -1.858°C.
