Class II Type B2 biological safety cabinets provide product, operator and environmental protection and are suitable for work with trace amounts of toxic chemicals and agents assigned to biological safety levels I, II or III. In a Class II Type B2 cabinet, all inflow and downflow air is exhausted after HEPA/ULPA filtration to the external environment without recirculation across the work surface.

Esco’s Airstream line features a fail-safe system which ensures that in case of exhaust failure blockage, the cabinet’s main fan automatically shuts down to ensure safety to the user; a large display which monitors the operation parameters, along with easy-to-use soft keys for menu, blower, light, UV, electrical outlets, etc.; and an energy efficient ECM motor that creates a stable airflow, despite building voltage fluctuations and filter loading.

Other features include the angled front, narrow profile front grille, raised armrest and frameless sash create an ergonomic work environment; a single piece stainless steel internal work zone eliminates welded joints where contaminants may accumulate; and dual-wall construction that surrounds the work zone with negative pressure plenums for maximum safety.

Unless otherwise specified all biosafety cabinets come with new HEPA filters installed by our technicians at our facility prior to shipment. Our testing procedures for B2 biosafety cabinets are limited, as we cannot replicate the same conditions as being hard ducted to the outside. We recommend that you contact the manufacturer and certifier (or whoever will be overseeing the installation) to ensure that this B2 total exhaust biosafety cabinet is right for your application, and compatible with your facility.
